The Alai Asyik is one of the traditional Brunei Malay dances. It is a very luxurious dance that was performed only in the palace in the olden days. Dancers would wear clothes made from kain tenunan (Bruneian woven brocade) and accessories such as gandi (a Malay style tiara). Only female dancers perform this dance.
