Challenges to local journalism: Panel Discussion

Why do some stories make the news and others don’t? Do reporters just regurgitate press releases without investigating further? Does real journalism exist in Brunei?

Our panelists comprise both current and former journalists whose working experience ranges from The Brunei Times and Borneo Bulletin, to digital news outlets @thescoop.co, @geekturf and @ranoadidas.

The conversation will be led by Siti Hajar Mahathir, who is a former journalist herself, and now heads corporate affairs for @_imaginebn.

All these questions and more in a panel hosted by The Scoop as part of @thetinylitfest 2020. We’ll be bringing together journalists from several media outlets, ranging from print to digital, to discuss challenges to the local media industry.
