No Bad Projects – Just Bruneians Event

BRUNEI-MUARA – Some 60 youth attended a programme held at The Vue Space on 22 February. The half-day programme themed, “No Bad Projects” was a platform for 10 talents to share their knowledge, insights and inspirations of local projects to creative professionals, students, and youth.
The programme is an initiative of a local non-government organisation, “Just Bruneians”. A group that aims to empower Bruneian creatives to stay inspired, informed and platform to connect to clients and other local creatives.
Discussions covered topics such as storytelling, cultural representation, and the evolving creative industry in Brunei. Kitani Film Club explores the cultural impact of cinema, while initiatives like Meet Lit, Market Seni, and Mighty Hearts provide platforms for writers, artists, and communities to share their voices.
Among the local youth speakers at the programme were, local musician Swanz sharing the process of producing his hit song “Majal’, Amal who runs the Tiktok account Baru nah! Brunei, AITI award winning director and cinematographer Mancientry, Nur Aqilah Ali CEO of Kitani Kreatif, and other youth from creative organisations. The other speakers were Hana Ghani founder of Meet Lit, Wafi Rusli of Showtime Creative Entertainment Services, Ismail of Gully Studios, Haris from Periodictableco, Haziqah Designs and Tina Afiqah from Parabelle Studios.
